Magniberg has recently unveiled Gelato and Wild, two new heavyweight towels made in organic cotton with new campaign called “Wild Life”, and a new wear collection featuring PJs, the quintessential slip, the ultimate t-shirt and lace tops and pants with new campaign ‘Copenhagen Dreaming’.

The Gelato towel collection comes in solid colours named after ice-cream flavours like passion yellow, cherry brown or coconut white. The collection romanticises the idea of Italian ice- cream: gelato presented in a colourful display, when choosing your flavour.

During this year’s 3daysofdesign Kvadrat unveils ReThink – an exhibition showcasing the work of 12 emerging and established creatives. From Iceland to Venezuela, Beijing to Brooklyn, the designers from the ReThink exhibition have focused on what responsible design means to them through working with Kvadrat’s recycled, regenerative, and circular material.

Kvadrat launches ReThink at 3daysofdesign 2024

ReThink is the seventh edition of Kvadrat’s Design Projects, following iterations dedicated to Kvadrat’s Hallingdal 65, Divina, Canvas, Kvadrat Febrik and Kvadrat Really textiles. The participants in ReThink were chosen by curators Jeffrey Bernett, Anniina Koivu, Johanna Agerman Ross, Jane Withers and Njusja de Gier – based on the designers’ interest in, and ability to respond creatively to, sustainable approaches and thinking. The designers were given free hand, and through their creations they show how the many aspects of sustainability can shape design, spark material innovation, increase community collaboration and cultivate new aesthetic values.

For this year’s Salone del Mobile, Kvadrat invites to #coloureffects – a special installation by Margrethe Odgaard. #coloureffects is the designer’s own colour-setting method that aims to deepen our understanding of the sensory and emotional effects of colour, offering new perspectives. This installation will showcase Kvadrat’s newest textiles, including Re-wool 2 and Azure Outdoor by Margrethe Odgaard, alongside Serpentine by Giulio Ridolfo and rugs by Ronan Bouroullec and Jos Klarenbeek.

All of us experience colours differently. The #coloureffects method uses two decks of cards split into white action cards and black emotion cards. They each contain either sensory or emotional words that prompts you to distinguish between colour action and emotion. The #coloureffects installation consists of a series of colour monuments placed around the showroom, each presenting a colour element standing on a pedestal with embroidered text of sensory and emotional effects such as ‘I feel optimistic’ or ‘I feel curious’. Originally created for architects and designers, Odgaard used the #coloureffects method to design the installation for the Kvadrat showroom.

Autumn is an upholstery textile woven from 100% recycled polyester. It comes in a nuanced colour palette designed by Teruhiro Yanagihara, inspired by the transient nature of the ‘ageing season’.

Trapped in heaven, a sculptural calligraphic curtain, is the latest collaboration between Kvadrat and artist Danh Vo. To celebrate its launch, Kvadrat and Danh Vo are inviting guests to his Berlin home to experience a thought-provoking installation comprising different expressions of the curtain.

Trapped in heaven is coinciding with the launch of Kvadrat Limited: a new platform for limited edition textiles created in collaboration with renowned artists, creating the opportunity for people to buy a piece of art made by their favourite artist for their private home and commercial spaces. This follows the company’s successful explorations in materiality and space with over 80 art installations with artist and art institutions around the world over the past two decades. Trapped in heaven by Danh Vo is the first edition to be launched as part of this series.

Kvadrat is launching the world’s first recycled polyester upholstery textile made out of 100% ocean-bound plastic waste – Sport designed by Patricia Urquiola.

Sport unites a vibrant, high-tech contemporary expression with a compelling sustainability story. Tiny graphic floral forms play across its surface, infusing the upholstery with a characterful, intricate expression. Inspired by sportswear and the look of technical textiles, Urquiola gave Sport a sophisticated binding that adds tactile multidimensionality to its structure. Sport is the worlds first upholstery textile that is made out of 100% ocean-bound plastic.

Mire Lee: Black Sun 

Installed in the New Museum’s Fourth Floor gallery, Mire Lee’s exhibition comprises a site-specific installation of new animatronic sculptures fusing the technological with the corporeal. This exhibition is part of an ongoing initiative, launched in collaboration with Kvadrat, to premiere ambitious new productions by emerging artists. To create the sculptures, Lee cut and dipped textiles in liquid clay using Sahco’s Cocoon and Kvadrat Febrik’s Apparel by Byborre.

During 3daysofdesign, Kvadrat is presenting a new residential curtain collection, Multiply. Designed by Kvadrat’s Creative Director Isa Glink, the curtains range from vivid plains to more sophisticated graphic designs. The collection brings a soft, unifying perspective to the multifaceted relationship between yarn, craft and perception. Sketches, a series of curtains by acclaimed designer Inga Sempé, are integrated into Multiply.

Magniberg introduces a collaboration with the British designer Jonathan Saunders on a collection of bedlinen and pyjamas that subverts traditional floral patterns into a graphic contemporary expression with a bright acid-house vibe. The floral prints on poplin are used for a complete range of duvet covers, pillow cases and thoughtfully designed pyjama shirts, pants and shorts. Tailored but nicely slouchy, cut for any gender, the pyjamas take you from the bedroom to the street and wending your way home again.
