SAHCO 2025 COLLECTION: WILD AT HEART

The new Sahco 2025 collection is launching during Paris Deco Óff taking place 15 – 18 January with a special installation by Rafael de Cárdenas – “Room Service”.

For 2025, Sahco travels to the very heart of its heritage and identity: manipulating techniques to elicit emotions. During Paris Deco Off, the new collection will be launched with an installation called “Room Service” by the American designer Rafael de Cárdenas around the theme of ‘Icons of Modernism’. Renowned for his cinematic atmospheres, de Cárdenas will reinterpret modernist motifs with Sahco language, reinforcing the beauty of juxtapositions of patterns, colours and styles in a contemporary way of life.

“Room Service” will be situated in Galerie Dumonteil, in the 2nd arrondissement. De Cárdenas is staging the gallery’s rooms to present Sahco’s new upholstery and drapery textiles in an undulating landscape of vintage and classic furniture and objet d’art alongside custom sculptural ottomans and paravents. From the street, generously draped window treatments frame views into subtly distinct residential zones.

ABOUT THE SAHCO 2025 COLLECTION – WILD AT HEART

The Sahco 2025 collection employs the archaic and artisanal, marrying traditional techniques with the high tech to fashion new ways of making and expression. Inspired by the artistic spirit of Franz West – who transformed brute materials into sculptures and was brave with colour, using neutral canvas tones and bright or softer more feminine ones. While taking to heart the attitude of designer Ulf Moritz – for whom no idea was too wild if executed with care.

Modern geometry from medieval épinglé. A cinematic fringed sheer made with fil-coupé suggesting the glamorous fragility of Marilyn Monroe. Luminosity and opulence from 19th century calendering. A curtain in guipure lace as sensual as it is sculptural. A snakeskin motif and stylistic tour de force in heavy jacquard. Exuberance and restraint lead to a certain harmony. Wild at heart, seriously evolved and elevated.

Themed Wild at Heart, the new collection consist of three new upholsteries and seven draperies fabrics with the power to move people and transform space. A journey alive to possibilities. Starting with the fundamental premise of true craftsmanship and pooled knowledge. Then pushing boundaries. Intellectual or lovestruck outlaw channelling Elvis in a snakeskin jacket. You choose.

“This collection reflects Sahco’s evolution. It’s expected but unexpected, calmer, more grown up but in no way stereotypical. We started with this attitude of breaking rules, being fearless. That’s why Franz West is such a good reference, he wasn’t so scared of failure. Ulf Moritz, the designer who shaped the Sahco in the late 1980s, believed no idea was too wild to be executed as long as it became a perfect rendering. This is something we really took to heart,” says Sahco Creative Director Bengt Thornefors.
