Unscripted by Sarah Illenberger for Kvadrat
Intrigued by the free spirit of scribbles that people create while trying out pens, pencils and crayons, the artist Sarah Illenberger has collected test papers from art supply shops for a long time.
Sarah Illenberger has curated and recomposed these spontaneous inscriptions into a colourful edition of printed textile panels. Entitled Script_One, Script_Two and Script_Three, these tactile transformations, which complement the playful plain curtain Blow, invite us to look again at what we would otherwise glance over. Each panel of this artist edition is signed and numbered by hand.
Sarah Illenberger: “The feeling of ‘no-one-is-watching-you’ inspired me to play with the medium of colour and individual expression in a non-purposeful way. These materialised hand drawn statements by unknown authors carry a comforting proof of natural, intuitive behaviour in digital times.”

Storylines by Kvadrat
The line is the essence of creativity. When we look at culture, we see lines everywhere.
Storylines imagines thread as the line, yarn as the syntax and textile as the story. The collection brings a narrator’s eye to these concepts by exploring intervals between texture, pattern and colour.
Movement ebbs and flows through Storylines. Seen from inside a space, lines emerge from the curtains as sculptural drapes, cascading stripes, and vibrant pleats. When looking out, views are transformed into constellations of lines and diffuse colours.
Storylines comprises a selection of plains, pleats and patterns in a wide range of weights from diaphanous to dim out. The collection features a spectrum of yarns, ranging from voluminous and richly textured twists to ultra-fine metal.
Shaping the experience of this diversity, meticulous weaving constructions and finishes create curious parallels with lines of dialogue. Whether cut, shrunk, soft-washed or colour-printed, the curtains express sensuous graphic and tactile dimensions, which subtly manipulate each other.
Storylines’ refined materials and compositions are crafted exclusively from natural or fabricated fibres. Some designs are woven with pure linen or soft new wool; others consist of organic cotton and comfortable viscose mixed with linen, and flame retardant man-made fibres woven to resemble the character of flax.
The atmospheric palette for Storylines takes cues from natural light and midnight skies. A complete scale of contrasting nuances, it spans neutrals with a contemporary twist, modern pastels, and saturated to muted tones, including almost black accents.
Together with the changing light, the collection unveils eye-catching rhythmic lines and prismatic colour dynamics throughout the day. Multidimensional materiality becomes the medium for storytelling, as surprising new narratives continuously emerge.
The collection comprises 18 premium quality curtains. Characterised by outstanding craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail and tactile structures, these are crafted from the finest materials by world-leading manufacturers and artisans. Refined and iconic, the collection is typified by sensual surfaces, individual colours and sophisticated construction techniques. The collection is designed by Creative Director Isa Glink and her team.
